A devastating earthquake recently struck Colombia, deeply impacting an area that holds a special place in our hearts.
Students of MANNA’s Training & Discipleship School come from this very region and are assembling aid and relief to affected families.
And we need your help funding supplies like groceries, clothing, clean water, and hygiene products.Â
What Happened on August 10
A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake shook western Colombia, one of the strongest earthquakes the country has recorded in recent memory. The tremor was centered near San José del Palmar in Chocó, a city already carrying the weight of poverty and years of hardship, and the shaking reached into Colombia's coffee growing region and cities like Pereira, Cali, Manizales, Quibdó, and Armenia. This is the same region that has given us so many graduates of MANNA's Training & Discipleship School.
We are grateful to share that we have not heard of any casualties among the families of our students. But the physical damage across the region is severe, some families have been displaced from their homes, and many are in urgent need of fresh groceries, clean drinking water, clothing, and hygiene items.
What We're Doing To Help
Deliver immediate relief
Provide fresh groceries, clean drinking water, clothing, and hygiene essentials directly to families affected by the earthquake.
Mobilize local church partners
Work through Training & Discipleship School staff and local pastors who already know these families, so help reaches the right hands quickly and with dignity.
Stand with families beyond the crisis
Continue walking alongside these families in the weeks ahead as they recover and rebuild, not just in this first urgent week.
